Mark Young is the President of Classic and Classic Asset Management. As a native of the upper Midwest, he understands the conservative nature of his North Dakota and Minnesota neighbors and their desire to have acceptable returns with reasonable stability of principal. In the late 80s and 90s Mark began to research and identify mutual funds that had above average performance with below average risk. In 1997 Mark began fee based management utilizing this research. The natural evolution of Mark’s research was the emergence of Classic Asset Management. In addition to his other duties, Mark serves as a Financial Advisor to a group of clients.
Douglas Schmitz is the Vice President of Classic and CAM and is responsible for due diligence. As an Investment Committee member he helps with research as well as the development and implementation of investment portfolios. Douglas has served clients throughout the Midwest for over twenty years. Douglas has earned an A.S. from the University of Minnesota, Crookston and a B.S. in Agricultural Economics with an emphasis in Finance from North Dakota State University. He has a depth of experience in retirement planning, education funding, risk management and developing strategies for cost-effective transfers of assets involving multiple generations. In addition to his other duties, In addition to his other duties, Doug serves as a Financial Advisor to a group of clients.
Craig Rottman is the Chief Investment Officer of Classic and CAM and is the head of the Investment Committee. Craig earned a B.A. in Physics from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI and went on to earn his M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Illinois, Urbana. He actively assesses and recommends allocation models and investment alternatives for use in the CAM portfolios. In addition to his other duties, Craig serves as a Financial Advisor to a group of clients.
Michael Young is the Chief Compliance and Operations Officer of Classic and CAM. As such, Mike ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as running back office operations. Mike earned a B.S. in Mathematics in 1993 from Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN and began his carrier at Travelers Express in Minneapolis and then Chicago. Mike joined the Classic team in 1999 and earned his CFP designation in May of 2006. In addition to his other duties, Mike serves as a Financial Advisor to a group of clients.
